Desktop software / PointOffice

From point clouds to measured sections.

Bring LAS data from LiDAR or photogrammetry into PointOffice. Cut sections along a road or through a chosen plane, measure their profiles, and export results for engineering workflows.

A focused section-measurement workflow

01

Import and prepare LAS data

Import a point cloud and let PointOffice build an octree for display. Split large files into a chosen grid before import. Inspect points by RGB, intensity, elevation, or classification.

02

Design the road centerline

Import a road alignment or build it in the element editor. Define horizontal and vertical alignments using straight lines, circular curves, and transition curves. Use the centerline to position cross-sections along the road.

03

Generate the sections you need

Import a road centerline or enter alignment elements manually. Generate cross-sections at one or several chainages with a chosen slice thickness and section width. Independent vertical and horizontal sections are also supported.

04

Measure and refine the profile

View the 3D cloud above the section-measurement panel. Add or remove profile points, measure distances, and adjust slice thickness or width to update the section immediately. Apply the edits to save your measurements.

Take the measurements into your next tool.

Export the current section from the measurement panel, or export all measured sections from the project toolbar.

DXF
Current section as a DXF polyline.
DAT
3D coordinates of measured section points, for one section or the whole project.
HDM
All measured cross-sections in HintCAD format.
DMX
Section-center elevations as a HintCAD longitudinal-profile file.
